Pc onky getting 50mbps download

I have run into this situation twice in the past week: Both people had signed up for Comcasts XFINITY Extreme 50 High Speed Internet (50 Mbps download speed), but neither were getting the promised speeds. In fact they were only getting about half (24 Mbps) of what they were paying. · I get speeds in the 50'bltadwin.ru my laptop, which is 3 months old. It's an HPCore i5 8GB RAM 2TB HDD. I've been hounding my provider, Suddenlink because I pay for mbps, and for some reason, they claim to be giving me mbps, But I only get 50 mbps. Today they changed out the lines outside, and before he came in I checked, 50 mbps. · · It isnt my pc, its brand new. My download speed is about 90 MB/s, yet im stuck at MB/s. I changed my region, removed the capping, still stuck at MB/s. or service plan not allowing you to go over your bandwidth cap. Let say only one person can use 10MB/s at a time, while others can download 10x slower, or less.
Sort by: best. level 1. RemixF. · 5y. There is absolutely no way you'll achieve Mbps using that router unless its wired and that might be pushing it. I wouldn't expect to see more than Mbps over 5GHz on that router. To increase your speed, you'll have to use a wider band for 5GHz. Answer (1 of 7): Just because you have a Mbps line doesn't mean the lines into the Steam server(s) aren't clogged or the Steam server(s) isn't/aren't bogged down by everybody and his brother trying to access it/them at the same time. But Comcast doubled my speed from 50Mbps up to about Mbps (but as I said, currently limited to about 80 until I get my modem switched). I even got a call from them confirming the increase. And yet my Steam download speed hasn't increased. If anything, it's gone down a little bit.
On one PC I get on the G5, 75 mbps download and mbps on the upload and ping ms (speed test) On the other PC with mbps I get on average download and upload and ping 21 ms (speed test) Yet the speed between the 2 PC's does not. If you are getting 50 Mbps on a gig wired connection call verizon and tell them to provision your internet for what you are paying for. / is what verizon is touting in their services for gigabyte speeds. 0. . #1. All of a sudden the WiFi download on my personal Dell laptop seems to be capped at 5 Mbps on a connection of 40 Mbps. Laptop is right next to the router. I was getting 40 just few days back. I'm getting 40Mbps on all other devices & getting 40 on the laptop via Ethernet. Just not on WiFi.
